The Texas FFA is looking for aspiring journalists, photographers and layout designers to serve on the 2011 Convention Chronicle staff. The Convention Chronicle is the official newspaper of the Texas FFA Convention. It is published for FFA members, by FFA members. Three issues are produced and distributed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings of convention.

Being part of this newspaper staff is a large commitment, but one that will be a wonderful learning experience and a great resume builder! If you are interested in journalism or communications, you don’t want to miss this opportunity. The deadline to apply is April 15. Space is limited!

Foundation Ambassadors

The Texas FFA Foundation will select a special group of FFA members to assist with the convention. Ambassadors serve as the official liaison with sponsors, special guests and dignitaries on behalf of the Texas FFA.

Being part of the Foundation Ambassador program includes an important commitment, but one that will be a wonderful learning experience and a great resume builder. It is high-energy and sometimes stressful, but well worth the networking opportunity.
Students, parents and agriculture teachers should be aware of the commitment being made when applying to be an Ambassador. If chosen, students should expect to be involved in Ambassador activities throughout the entire FFA Convention. Please discuss this opportunity with your agriculture teacher BEFORE applying. Teachers must be willing to support your time commitment as well as bring you and pick you up on time.

In addition to a selection committee who will review applicants, a round of interviews may be employed during the State FFA Degree Check. Once selected, the commitment begins with training on Monday, July 11, which will equip ambassadors with information, background and skills to assist in having a successful week as a Foundation Ambassador. Apply online no later than April 15.
