Text Voting for Talent Show
By: Lindsey White
Last Updated: 7/13/2011 12:26 AM
What do the FFA State Talent Show, America's Got Talent and American Idol all have in common? Other than showcasing the best singing, dancing, comedy, music and unique talents available, all four offer the opportunity to vote from mobile phone devices.

For the first time in the history of Texas FFA, students will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite talent competition by texting. This exciting new form of voting created by Tyler Wieghat of Wieghat Graphics offers a fun way for more students to voice their opinion for their favorite talent.

Though only an unofficial count, text voting provides a method to obtain a wider range of voters' opinions. Official ballot votes will still be conducted for area delegates. All students voting through ballot and by text can vote for only two talent groups as officially stated in the rules. Votes will be disqualified if students vote for only one, or more than two, talents.
