Collegiate FFA is a national organization that takes an FFA member’s agricultural experience and knowledge from the high school level to the collegiate level. Collegiate FFA provides its members with the skills and expertise they will need in the workforce after college. To join Collegiate FFA, simply check to see if a certain university or junior college offers it, then request to join the chapter.
Shelbie Belott, incoming president of the Texas Collegiate FFA, said Collegiate FFA is geared toward professional development, focusing on skills that will be useful in finding a job, such as networking with universities, attending professional workshops and meeting with industry experts in.
Belott said being in Collegiate FFA allows you to meet important people and “shake the hands you need to shake” to get ahead in the industry. Belott also said that being in Collegiate FFA looks great on job applications or resumes.
