Texas FFA is sponsored at convention annually by many different corporations, organizations and foundations. These groups were honored at a VIP breakfast Thursday morning in the City Bank Room at the United Spirit Arena.
Corporations such as LaQuinta Inns and Suites and McCoy’s Building Supply have been corporate sponsors of Texas FFA for several years. The positive relationships developed have attracted the attention of others, such as 2011 newcomer Mahindra Tractors.
“Texas is our home state, so we said ‘why not become involved with the Texas FFA?’” Mahindra Tractors Marketing Communications Manager Martin Cisneros said.
Corporate sponsors like Mahindra Tractors USA give directly to the Texas FFA Foundation. According to the foundation’s mission statement “…The Texas FFA Foundation is a way of building on past successes while providing new avenues for young people to excel.” Sponsors and others work hard within the foundation to raise funds. Those funds are redistributed to members in the form of scholarships and other benefits.
“It’s just our way of helping the ag industry continue to grow,” Cisneros said. “We’re just helping people continue their education. They’re going to be the future leaders in the ag industry and we know that.”
The foundation under the leadership of Executive Director Aaron Alejandro, has raised millions for Texas FFA members. Through the work of the foundation new educational opportunities will continue to arise.
