With hectic and confusing aspects of Texas FFA state convention, it’s a relief to have a staff operating like the Ambassador program. The Ambassador program is a representative group between sponsors and members which is organized by the FFA Foundation. The team of 39 members set out to complete a wide array of tasks. They are charged with escorting the dignitaries and special guests, providing directions, and other duties. They organize and service the VIP breakfast and scholarship luncheons.
The leadership of this vital organization rests in the hands of a volunteer coordinator, as Misty Richter. “The Ambassador program is the liaison between the FFA Foundation and our sponsors,” Richyter said.
“The Texas FFA is blessed with many great sponsors. Their generous support provides the fuel to help Texas FFA provide opportunities for our members, teachers and affiliate organizations,” says Aaron Alejandro, executive director of the FFA Foundation. “The Ambassadors help put a face to the Texas FFA program for many of our sponsors.”
The young men and women who fuel this program are comprised of applicants from all over the state of Texas. While everyone who participates as an Ambassador is important, the senior Ambassadors serve as leaders and are given the most esteemed and important sponsors and guests.
Senior Ambassador, Tyler Green, is the Ambassador for super sponsor Dick Wallrath. Serving his second year in the Ambassador program, Green said he “greatly enjoys getting to meet the influential and important people who make the convention possible.”
The goal of the Ambassadors program is to provide a comfortable and reliable service for the people who give FFA members a chance to experience all the splendors of state convention.
