Dear Texas FFA Members,
I hope that all of you are enjoying a great holiday season! The Texas FFA Travel Team certainly had a wonderful Thanksgiving break after four months on the road.
Currently, the Texas FFA Travel Team has visited nearly 180 schools, traveled about 13,000 miles, and seen approximately 10,000 FFA members from all over the great state of Texas. We have been to every area association in the state with the exception of Area X, which is on the calender for December 5th-9th of this year.
Traveling the state of Texas has been everything I had hoped it to be and more. From the piney woods of East Texas, to the ever-changing weather of the Texas panhandle, to the rugged (yet jaw-dropping) terrain of West Texas, and everywhere in between; the environment of our state is in a league of its own in terms of diversity.
Similar to the diversity of our state, is the excellence of our students. This weekend, at the Sam Houston State University (State LDE Contest), we will have the opportunity to watch and learn as some of our state’s finest members compete for state titles in 12 Leadership Development Events. It is certainly an honor to become a state qualifier in the FFA, and I would like to send my congratulations to all who competed across the state, as well as wish good luck to those participating this weekend.
To everyone across the state, I would like to wish you all a happy holiday season and a merry Christmas. As we move into the next semester, let us all remember that the FFA is only what we make it, nothing more.
