Chances are you’ve blasted his hits on your radio. Since the early 2000’s, Wade Bowen has been wowing country music fans with his raspy, experienced voice and song lyrics that epitomize life in the Lone Star State. Last night, Bowen turned his attention to the Texas FFA, performing for a crowd of over 3,000 at the American Bank Center. The concert was Bowen’s first for the FFA, adding to an already impressive repertoire of concert venues.

Bowen performed on stage in his normal, crowd-pleasing fashion, playing his hit single Saturday Night among other songs from his new album The Given. The albums name was derived from a dream that Bowen experienced and his appreciation for all that has been given to him throughout his 14-year career.

Bowen was born and raised in Waco, Texas and was surrounded by music throughout his childhood. “My sisters used to drag me around to concerts all the time,” Bowen said.

Bowen described his family as “obsessed” with music but it was not until attending a Robert Earl Keen concert his freshman year at Texas Tech University that he knew music would be the path he wanted to follow.

“Once I saw Robert Earl Keen, it changed everything,” Bowen said. Before attending the Keen concert, Bowen had only experienced mainstream country and thought moving to Nashville would be the only way to facilitate his music career. Bowen credits his musical influence to the likes of growing up in Waco, his strong family convictions and to his idol, rock legend Bruce Springsteen. Bowen and his band have played with several notable country artists such as Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan and fellow Texas Country bands Cross Canadian Ragweed and The Randy Rogers Band, among others.

Despite touring frequently and performing over 200 times every year, Bowen maintains a close relationship with his family and a strong relationship with his wife Shelby and his two children.
