The FFA officers clad in blue corduroy run onto the stage. The president taps the gavel to call the assembly to order. Sessions such as this are the only times that this many Texas FFA members congregate in the same place and enjoy the same activity all at once. Filled with motivational speakers, member recognition and inspirational messages aimed toward FFA members, the general sessions helps provide a valuable and educational background to assist all who attend.

Although these sessions are the foundation of the action at state convention, a myriad of other activities and experiences beckon FFA members. These include competitive speaking events, a rodeo, a community oriented day of service, as well as talent and Agriscience Fair competitions. Informative workshops are available and geared toward FFA members who would like to learn more about becoming a leader in their respective communities.

FFA talent is another great separation from the convention general sessions. Although not everyone can perform in the talent show, a member can be a voting delegate to determine the most talented FFA member in the state.

Another avenue of involvement is interacting with the venders in the exhibit hall. You might wander into a booth that sparks an interest in a potential college to attend or pick out a shirt that reminds you of your unforgettable experience at convention. Whatever you choose to do, expand your horizons and make the most out of your experience at the 84th Annual Texas FFA State Convention.
