Richard Wallrath’s name is well-known among FFA members. His inspiring story has touched the hearts of hundreds from across the state through his movie, “Deep in the Heart.” Wallrath is grateful for the support his movie has received since its premiere in February of this year.
“Deep in the Heart” was made was not only to inspire people with an amazing story but also to raise money for the Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation to continue funding hundreds of scholarships for high school students in both FFA and 4-H.
Brian Hoffman, producer of “Deep in the Heart,” stresses the impertinence of FFA members continued support of the movie, especially when the DVD is released. Support of the movie is crucial to the Educational Foundation, because it provides money used for scholarships.
As a former alcoholic who overcame his addiction, Wallrath hopes to serve as a role model to others who are facing drug or alcohol abuse.
Hoffman believes Wallrath’s story is inspirational. “He created his own problem, and then resolved it,” Hoffman explained.
Wallrath has been proudly sober for 44 years, five months and two days.
