Throughout December 2012 and January 2013 Texas FFA Leadership Development Coordinator Austin Large and several state FFA officers hosted JumpSTART Academies across the Lone Star State. The JumpSTART Academy is a conference designed specifically for the officers of chapters going through the charter/re-charter process.

The conference offers dynamic team building exercises, a chance to learn the roles and responsibilities of chapter officers, discover the qualities of effective teams and identify strategies for hosting effective meetings. Students also get the opportunity to learn about and craft their own Program of Activities. JumpSTART was created to help student leaders “jump start” their new chapters, and create a legacy that will live on in their schools and communities for years to come.
