Lindale FFA, a chapter in Area VI, is preparing for renovations of the current school barn, as well as construction of a new building.

“We’re currently cleaning up around the facility in preparation for construction, which will begin May 8,” said Stephen Hindman, Lindale FFA agriculture science teacher.

The construction will double the size of the current facility and will include a complete renovation of the existing agriculture barn.

Renovation plans in the current building include remodeled restrooms, an office area, a feed room, new cattle wash stalls, a vet lab and sheep and goat pens, explained Hindman.

The new building will include 30 swine pens, swine wash stalls and eight cattle runs.

“We are looking forward to a new year with a first class facility,” said Brent Berryman, Lindale High School career and technical education director, in a letter promoted on social media.

Hindman said construction is estimated to be completed by August 12.
