FFA members can advocate for agriculture by sharing the positive stories of agricultural education and the Texas FFA.

Texas Farm Bureau Associate Editor Amanda Hill believes Texas FFA members have a unique opportunity to advocate for agriculture, because they are familiar with social media sites.

“A student can easily leave a major impact just by snapping a picture related to agriculture, because they have a large group of followers,” Hill said.

Utilizing Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and blogs are a few avenues for FFA members to share their stories. Throughout the week of convention, members can post updates and share their experiences via these sites.

“Members should share their experiences and achievements with others in their community to help spread the positive influence of agricultural education and the FFA,” said Texas FFA Communications Coordinator Julie Vrazel. “One story can inspire others to join the FFA and pursue a career in agriculture.”
