Coming from a small village in Ghana, Albert Mensah touched many hearts of FFA members with his inspirational story. From walking four miles each morning to getting water, having no lights or indoor plumbing, Mensah now travels motivating individuals.

While watching a movie in Ghana, he discovered what USA meant, and knew he wanted to move to America. After being laughed at by family members and told he would not make it, he still did not give up on his dream.

“Life is not fair, there are going to be obstacles,” Mensah said. Mensah’s moving story elaborates on not to be scared of who are you.

He says, “Be yourself, accept who you are. It is not the material things in life that matter.” Mensah uses life experiences throughout his story to explain that you must trust yourself, and follow your dreams.

Mensah uses the “formula” of life to explain that the decisions you make now will affect you in the future. “Learn from your own mistakes,” Mensah said.

Mensah encouraged FFA members to build a solid foundation with enthusiasm and patience in order to be successful. He told different stories throughout his presentation stating this is the foundation for the rest of our lives.

“Take this one chance to build your house right,” Mensah said.
