Show off your spirit and show off your chapter through the IAmTexasFFA Instagram account that is dedicated to sharing member’s perspectives through pictures.

The first step is to follow IAmTexasFFA. During convention, hashtag your chapter’s Instagram post with #IAmTexasFFA for a chance to see your chapter featured. Following convention, each state officer will manage the account for a week and post pictures that represent Texas FFA. Then pass it on to the next officer and local chapters will have the opportunity to be chosen to show their pride.

To have the chance for your entire chapter to gain access to the IAmTexasFFA account, use the QR code or link to access the online application. Then you will be prompted with a series of questions that require your ag teacher’s supervision. If chosen you will be notified with designated dates and be responsible for posting three to five appropriate pictures on the account per day that showcase your chapter’s spirit.

Victor Salazar, who is a former Connecticut state officer, is responsible for the operations of the page.

“Throughout that week they have the opportunity to show the whole state of Texas what their chapter is, what is unique about them and what their FFA spirit is,” Salazar said.

The goal of the new account is to promote followership and encourage chapters to apply and expand the experiences and uniqueness of Texas FFA.

The idea is based on an existing Instagram site, I Love Texas Photo. The Instagram account is managed by different photographers every three days to get a unique look at the life in Texas.  Instagram users apply to control the site for a short period of time and post photos of their hometown and ongoing festivities, and then they pass the baton to another user after their allotted days.

Having the opportunity to feature different chapters around the state provides a chance for members to connect and learn from one another through the use of social media and open doors to future advancements.
