Commissioner Todd Staples spoke to over 12,000 members and guests at the 86th Annual Texas FFA Convention in Fort Worth, July 17, while presenting the Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation Scholarship.

Commissioner Staples has a long history with the Texas FFA. He was a member of the Area VIII Association and Palestine FFA Chapter. In 1981 he was elected to serve as Vice President of the Texas FFA Association. The following year Commissioner Staples gave his retiring address to thousands of Texas FFA members at the 54th Annual Texas FFA Convention in Fort Worth. The relationship he has forged with the Texas FFA, has been and will be a long lasting one.

Commissioner Staples believes in the free enterprise system and individual responsibilities are the keys to prosperity for Texas. His values reflect those of the Texas FFA. The organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

“The ultimate outcome of the hands-on leadership development experience through FFA is a life of service and effective leadership,” said Texas FFA Executive Director, Tom Maynard. “Commissioner Staples personifies our mission and serves as a prime example for all young Texans.”
