Eager rodeo fans gathered to watch members compete at the Fourteenth Annual Texas FFA Rodeo. The two-day event hosted 176 contestants at the San Patricio County Fairgrounds in Sinton, Texas.

Texas FFA Rodeo strives to promote the sport and expose its positive image to the general public. Division winners have the opportunity to further their education through a $1,000 scholarship.

Chandler Crawford drove over 250 miles to participate in the barrel-racing competition. This was the Florence FFA member’s second year competing at the state event. After overcoming unexpected obstacles, Crawford believed the rush of adrenaline was worth the hardship.

“Warming up and running down the alley is probably the best part,” Crawford said.

Participants work year round in order to make it to the finals reserved for only the top 10 individuals in each of the nine events. Such dedication towards improvement resembles the true meaning of personal growth and success.
